With the blood of circus technicians running through his veins, Alexis Bowles joyfully transports you to a never-ending festive universe. He integrates two atmospheric realms: lighting design and music, a symbiosis of ambiance, texture, rhythm and perfect timing.

Caroline Blais has been working under the fictitious name Chocobeets since 2005. Chocobeets because she loves chocolate and beets, and weird mixes that generate unexpected results. She produces new and playful works out of recycled images, words, objects and ideas.


JULY 3_DJ Manuel Chantre & VJ Pink Rubber Lady

Manuel Chantre is a composer and artist working with new media. He is known for his music project chiptune Taxi Nouveau, his performances with Popcore Duo and his three-dimensional immersive devices. At the FIMA, he will play warm sounds like grime, dubstep, French electronic music and some Taxi Nouveau original creations.

VJ Pink Rubber Ladypinkrubberlady.com

Pink Rubber Lady is a filmmaker, a VJ, a pianist, a harpist and a systems design engineer. She produces short films since 2002 and received a grant from the National Film Board. Her films tell personal stories by combining reality and fiction. Her live videos incorporate narrative elements and depict human behaviours.


JULY 9 DJ B’UGO & VJ Liberty

DJ and producer B’UGO started travelling at an early age, experiencing the sounds of the West African dance floors and a variety of dance musics from around the globe. Cumulating 10 years of experience, B’UGO has developed a unique style and an outstanding live technique.

Since her entrance in the VJing world at the SAT in 2001, Martine Koutnouyan, aka VJ Liberty, has performed in many local and international events. Passionate about mixing images live, she declines specific themes into multiple video loops of images she made or borrowed, both abstract and realistic.

JULY 10 DJ Alex Lemieux & VJ jocool

Resident DJ at club Laïka since 2009, Alex Lemieux has performed in many major events in Montreal such as Temps d’images, Élektra, the Francofolies, the ADISQ gala after party, the Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois and the Festival du nouveau cinéma. His remixes have also been heard in London (GB), Lyon (France), Berlin and Köln (Germany).

Residency program director and project manager at the SAT since 1995, Joseph Lefèvre is also a teacher and new media artist. He has created works for the Web and interactive installations. His approach is colourful, often figurative and poetic, and explores various styles. He particularly enjoys live creation.
